Surprisingly comfortable and needed

I'm a software developer who switched to using trackballs and vertical mice for work several years ago. My daily driver is the Logitech MX Vertical Mouse (but I've used the Evoluent and others). Vertical mice are great, but they introduced the problem of needing to bear the weight of my arm to use them without wrist motions - after a while, I start slacking and twisting my wrist (like paying attention to your posture and then slouching as soon as you stop thinking about it). That's what I'm trying to avoid! This neatly solves that problem by letting me rest my wrist on it, moving with me, so I can easily move the mouse with my arm instead. With my elbow on my arm rest, it's great.

I use the left side with vertical mice and the right side with trackballs and standard mice. If you only use trackballs I wouldn't recommend this, but I find it handy with standard mice.

It glides across my desk pad without resistance but stays still when I need it to - no shifting or anything of that nature.

So great to hear it helped! - thank you so much for your feedback :)

I have a relatively tall mouse (MX master 2s) so my hand has to come up quite a bit to reach over it. There was a day where I felt a slight pain in my wrist so I decided to try getting a wrist rest.I looked at lots of foam pads to lay your wrist on, but I didn't like how I assumed my movement would be limited without having to pick up my wrist and reposition it a lot. Also didn't want a wrist rest that would deform over time.It took me about a week to figure out the perfect position for the rest to fit, but it was so worth it. Any time I try using my mouse without it now, I instantly notice a slight strain in my wrist and it just doesn't feel good.Highly recommend to anyone that uses a computer a lot for anything other than FPS-gaming. I'm not sure how good it would be for shooters, but I don't play any so I can't say yes/no. For more relaxed games, it's totally fine.
